How to support your neurodivergent young person on social media

Join us to find out practical ways you can help keep your young person safe online.

Social media can be a powerful space for connection, creativity, and self-expression—but it can also present unique challenges for neurodivergent young people. This training is designed to support parents and carers in understanding how neurodivergent young people experience social media and the online world.

You’ll learn practical strategies to help your young person stay safe, build healthy online relationships, manage boundaries, and navigate issues such as online conflict, masking, sensory overload, and digital wellbeing. The session also explores how to have open, supportive conversations about social media use, while respecting autonomy and individuality.

Whether your young person is already active online or just starting out, this training offers guidance, reassurance, and tools to help you support them with confidence.

This is a free training event for parent carers of children with additional needs and/or disabilities within North Somerset. This event is also open to professionals who work with children/young people with additional needs and/or disabilities in North Somerset. Priority on place allocation will be given based on the criteria above.
